About

Friends of Currumbin began in 1979 when concerned local people fought to protect the local area from a major development at the mouth of the Currumbin Creek.

Since that time members have maintained a watchful eye on issues of a social, political or environmental nature that may impact the social and/or natural character of the Currumbin and Flat Rock Creek region.

FoC seeks to enhance, protect and beautify natural features and public open spaces, and find ways to further improve the quality of life for all who live in and/or visit Currumbin.

The Currumbin & Flat Rock Creek area includes the drainage catchment of the waterways (including tributaries) from the headwaters to the mouth; Currumbin Beachfront, Currumbin Valley, Currumbin Waters, Currumbin, and parts of the suburbs of Elanora, Palm Beach and Tugun.

FoC speaks for neither the wider community, nor any other focus group and is conscious of the need to embrace a wide spectrum of views.

The aim of FoC meetings is to promote community dialogue and to work together as a community to ensure a continuing legacy for future generations.

All people who are passionate about preserving the beauty of Currumbin are welcome at the monthly meetings.
